CRV prompts to check engine emission controls

CRV checks the engine emission control system for what is the fault

The Honda CRV checks for faults in the engine emission control system that can occur in the following scenarios:

1. Faulty electronic components of the engine exhaust system, such as oxygen sensor, air flow meter sensor, throttle valve, or carbon deposits inside the engine.

2. Damage to the three-way catalytic converter, which may be due to overheating and tempering of the engine, resulting in sintering and spalling of the three-way catalytic converter carrier, and increased exhaust resistance.

 3. The fuses of the running lights and anti-theft system are malfunctioning.

4. The thermostat is faulty and not opened, resulting in a small circulation of the engine cooling system, and the coolant cannot flow through the heat dissipation tank, so the engine temperature will be too high.

5. The gap of the spark plug is too large, or the resistance value of the sub-cylinder line does not meet the requirements.

These faults generate a string of codes that are read by the ECU and appear on the dashboard as indicators. If the engine emission fault light continues to turn on after the car has finished starting, it means that the engine may be faulty.
